Welcome to Something Else, Ball State's premiere Sketch Comedy Group! We’re always looking for the best and brightest to join our organization. We really want people who want to get involved with the comedy scene at Ball State. Motivated, dedicated, hard working FUNNY people. People who are not afraid to stand up in front of 30 or 300 people and tell a joke or story, people whose brains flow with ideas and thoughts that want to get them down on paper or film.

Overview
Something Else (SE) is Ball State’s premier sketch comedy group. Though Something Else originally was a full format 30 minute show, the group now tackels sketch comedy on "new media" outlets [aka The Web]. SE also produces a weekly radio show/podcast on WCRD and iTunes, produces short films, writes and composes music and keeps an online blog.

Something Else has something going on almost every day. Here is a mini-weekly breakdown.

SE General Meetings – Every Tuesday, 10:00PM. Mandatory for all members.
SE Films - Every Tuesday, 8:00PM in Studio D.
BSU Stand Up - Every other week, Location TBA.
SE Writers Meetings - Every Thursday, Letterman Building
SE PR Meetings - Every Thursday, Letterman Building.
SE Radio Shows – Weekly, WCRD.
Pre-Production Meetings/Rehearsal – Various locations. By schedule only.
Shoots – Various locations. Weekends, but sometimes weekdays. Carpools typically meet in The Atrium near Starbucks. By schedule only.

Dues
Something Else is a non-profit official Ball State organization. All organizations require dues to function. Something Else dues are $25/year.

Equipment
With due payment, members who have taken the Introduction to Video class or as by recommendation of the Executive Producer are allowed to check out camera equipment to use on Something Else shoots. Equipment is available in the Media Lab in the Ball Communications Building.  First year members will be expected to learn how to shoot and edit by the end of their Freshman year.
